South London Glamour.

We met Eve & her groom-to-be Dave at The Boutique for our initial meet in January to talk over menus, staff and their wedding ideas.  Including the very courageous task of the Bride making her own wedding dress!

The couple had already hired a space in Penge in south London called The Royston Halls.   Close to them locally and a bit of institution, the space was perfect to dress up how they wanted it.   A bit of faded charm and vintage glamour will set a lovely scene.

In terms of the food, we have worked on a more savoury afternoon tea for the wedding day with the menu including honeyed pigs-in-blankets and savoury vegetarian quiches.   Not because the couple don’t have a sweet tooth but Eve had the idea that guests could add to the day by bringing their own creations to form the cake table.   The Penge Wedding Bake Off!

Afternoon Tea & Dancing

Mrs Jones met Eve and Dave at the venue recently and the hall is a real gem for a vintage chic wedding.  An old ballroom with a sprung wooden floor literally made for dancing on!  The main room has beautiful gold features around the stage and faded mirrors on the walls.   With the bride’s choice of undressed tables around the edges the space is going to look an amazing mix of vintage, period glamour and that pared back look that’s just so inviting.

The plan is to have fairy lights from the canopies and home grown tulips and herbs for table centre pieces to round everything off.

As always we have a tasting session with the Bride, Groom and various family members and friends.   Definitely one of our favourite parts of the planning as we get to sit down for a good chat about food!

We cannot wait to cater this wedding in April and really looking forward to showing you the hall, the food (and of course the bride and groom!) in all its afternoon tea wedding glory.
